I do, therefore i think it is normal: the causal effects of behavior on descriptive norm formation and evolution

Social norms theories have guided social science research by predicting how and when influence people’s behavior. However, there are still gaps in our understanding of formed, maintained, changed. It is possible that own actions shape perpetuate what we believe normal. This study tests whether behavior can perceptions typical this relationship evolves over time. Secondary analysis data from a multi-round public-goods experiment showed personal contribution significantly positively influences perceived descriptive norms; yet, significant change the time was not evidenced. Theoretical practical implications discussed.
